About the application

Grafting Music and Art is a collaborative exhibition inspired by live sound and creative interpretation.

Born from a partnership with musician Thomas Hinds, this show invites visual artists to translate music into form—exploring rhythm, emotion, movement, and story through their own lens.

The evening culminates in a live performance by Thomas, surrounded by artwork created in response to sound itself. The result is an immersive experience where boundaries blur—where you don’t just hear music or see art, you feel both at once.

All mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, photography, fiber, ceramics, and more. Both 2D and 3D works will be considered—as long as the human figure is a discernible element.

We encourage submissions from artists at all stages of their creative journey—students, emerging artists, and professionals alike. Whether your work is conceptual, traditional, or somewhere in between, we want to see how you interpret the human form.
