Terms & Conditions

WINE WALK RULES & REGULATIONS

  • All current Main Street Gardnerville (MSG) Business Partners are welcome to participate in our annual Third Thursday Wine Walk (TTWW) season. To participate, business owners must complete our Business Participation Form herein and submit it to the MSG office by April 30th to participate.
Participating In-District Business Partners in good standing may host up to two (2) Pop-Up businesses (out-of-district businesses) at their location per wine walk event.
  • Pop-up businesses must sign the Business Participation Form and be current Main Street Business Partners (starting at $100 Standard Partnership) or have registered per event. ($25 per event)
  • The In-District businesses are responsible for choosing whether to allow the Pop-Up business to pour wine. In situations of dense or shared space, Pop-up businesses are encouraged to offer hydration stations, mocktails, or snacks.
  • The Pop-up Businesses must check in with In-District hosting businesses before the event to confirm and verify pop-up setup and placement, especially in areas of dense or shared space.
  • Please do not block driveways to business access during the event. Remember, not all businesses in the district participate in the TTWW and are open for business during the event. We request you check with the neighboring businesses in your plazas before putting traffic controls in place.
  • Chamber and museum-paired businesses—Please check in with Dennis at the Museum dchs@historicnv.org or Brenda at director@historicnv.org AND Alicia at the Chamber Alicia@carsonvalleynv.org to verify your setup and for important instructions on wine pour.
  • Any separate events held during the Wine Walks are not covered under MSG’s insurance policy and will require their own special event permit. (Note: MSG’s special event permit does not cover liquor)
  • All Businesses must agree to stay open until the end of each Wine Walk, 7:30 pm. If for some reason you must close your business during a wine walk, please place a notice on your door to notify walkers.
  • Please contact MSG if you plan to have Live Music entertainment at your business. Each business is responsible for outdoor music and licensing requirements during Wine Walks. If your business is hosting Live Music or a unique contest, please let us know a week before any wine walk if you want us to promote it.
  • PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES CANNOT PARTNER OR HOST POLITICAL ENTITIES DURING WINE WALKS. Main Street Gardnerville is a nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization that remains neutral on social, political, religious, and controversial issues. For a copy of our Nonpartisan Political Policy, please email info@mainstreetgardnerville.org
  • Wine Walk Maps (Printed Yearly) April 30th - Deadline for Company Logos
Wine Walk maps will only be printed once per year. All company logos must be sent to MSG by April 30th to be included on the walking map. Please email your company logo to info@mainstreetgardnerville.org.

SERVING PARTICIPANTS

  • Each business is responsible for providing its wine. We recommend purchasing a case of wine. (Servers must be 21 years of age)
    • Sip, not chug - Only pour 1.5 ounces per guest. We have pour stoppers available or you can use just less than a shot glass
  • Wine should only be poured for participants who have:
    • MSG “FOREVER” wine glass
    • a colored wristband
  • The month’s corresponding wristbands. Wristband colors change monthly and will be announced at the beginning of the month prior to the event.
All three (3) items are required to serve wine. A person lacking one or more items did not officially register and should not be served. Please refer them to one of the registration booths.
  • DO NOT POUR WINE FOR SOMEONE WHO APPEARS TO BE INTOXICATED. You have the right to refuse service to an intoxicated person. If you encounter any problems, we recommend calling 911.
  • Encouraging designated drivers - We want our community safe. Designated drivers will have a wristband - let's celebrate them. If you offer a hydration station, mocktails, or snacks instead of a wine stop, please let us know, and we will add you to the list of DD- supporting stops at registration.
