About the application
Application for the 13th Annual Bravo! Awards. Categories include both Visual and Performing Arts.This contest is open to students in grades 11-12 who have achieved excellence in the field of fine Arts in public, private,and home schools and they must be resident of Hamblen, Jefferson, Cocke, Claiborne, Grainger, or Hancock Countries. One Award will be given in each of the two categories - visual art and performance art. Winners and finalist will be invited to present their creations at a celebratory dinner and ceremony on Thursday, May 7th at 6:15 at Rose Center Council for the Arts.
It's super easy to enter! You can win up to $500! Submissions include: 1. Portfolio: A portfolio of the artist's work will be submitted to the Rose Center Council for the Arts for judging. For Visual Arts, all media will be considered and will be judge on originality, creativity, and craftsmanship and judges on technique, creativity, and presentation.The portfolio must include only two (2) example of current work.
For Performance Art, instrumental, theatre, vocal, and spoken word performance will be considered. For performance art, two (2) examples not to exceed 3 minutes each of a recording (audio or visual) should be submitted; and if selected, will be asked to perform at the banquet. Only current work will accepted. Previous submissions will not be accepted.
2. Letter of Recommendation: The letter of recommendation will be submitted by a person with knowledge of the applicant's ability in the chosen arts discipline.
The winners selected by a panel of judges from the Rose Center Artists' Advisory Council, will be announced that evening. The Awards will consist of cash awards in each category: 1st Place Award: $500, 2nd place Award: $250, 3rd Place Award: $100. Will be judged on originality, Creativity, and Craftsmanship, and on technique, creativity, and presentation.

Terms & Conditions
1. Students must reside within the Lakeway Area (Hamblen, Grainger, Cocke, Jefferson, Hancock, and Claiborne Counties). 2. Students must be in High School and be in the 11th - 12th grades and may be in public, Private and home schools. 3. Students must submit in visual or performing arts. 4. All art, visual or performing, must be original by the student. 5. Digital Art will be accepted. 6. Students cannot submit the same art as previous years. 7. A written statement that introduces you as an artist/performer, what being an artist/performer means to you. 8. Students are required to submit a letter of recommendation. 9. Visual art categories that will be accepted: painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture (metal, clay, ceramics), photography, works on paper, fiber art. 10. Performing art categories accepted: music (instrumental & vocal), dance, theater dance, and spoken word. Instrumentalists, please prepare one lyrical and one technical piece.
