About the application

Welcome to the 42nd Harvest Folk Festival! This is an electronic agreement and by selecting the booths, you are validating and approving this agreement electronically.

 

Categories: Artists may apply in up to 3 categories. You must submit a separate application for each category. If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must apply in Jewelry. All work displayed in the booth must be for sale.

 

Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.

 

Cottage Food Bakery: Allowed Foods: Only non-potentially hazardous (shelf-stable) foods, such as bread, cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, and candies.


Prohibited Foods: Items requiring refrigeration, such as cheesecake, cream-filled pastries, or custard pies.

 

Labeling: Products must be labeled with the business name, product name, ingredients, net weight, and a statement that the product was produced in a home kitchen.

 

Inspections: You must provide an inspection from the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) to obtain a registration.

 

Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.

 

Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.

 

Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. 

 

Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.

 

Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.

 

Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.

 

Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.

 

Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable.

 

Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered.

 

Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.

 

Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Reproduction prints are not allowed.

 

Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.

About the event

Harvest Folk Festival at Murray’s Mill is back for it's 42nd year and our community could not be more ready to celebrate! This fall, the music, crafts, and flavors that define the festival return in full force, bringing with them the spirit of heritage, connection, and joy that our community treasures.

Terms & Conditions

1) All booth spaces are out-of-doors, on un-level ground/grass with limited access.

2) Set-up will be Saturday from 7 to 9:00 am & vehicles must be removed to parking lot by 9:30 am. You are welcome to set up on Friday. There is no onsite security.

3) Parking: after you have unloaded your vehicle, please move it to all day parking nearby.

4) Someone must be present at your booth at all times.

5) Each booth must be free of litter. Trash containers will be provided.

6) HACC can assume NO responsibility for loss/damage of your work.

7) You are encouraged to provide a visually appealing exhibit.

8) Check in upon arrival to site at open shelter at top of hill in front of John Murray House.

9) Vendor canopies should be free of tent ropes/cords that obstruct walking traffic around tent.

10) Vendor is responsible for all-appropriate county & state permits and rules.

11) Craft vendors are not allowed to sell drinks of any kind at their booth.

12) Items must be family-friendly. No nudity, profanity, or politics.
