If you think you’ve got what it takes to crown the best of the best, we want YOU on the judging panel! Submit your application today to become an official judge at the 64th Annual Folk Festival and Smokin’ on the Square Competition.

Bring your appetite, your expertise, and get ready for some serious flavor!

About the event

The City of Mountain View, Arkansas is excited to welcome you to the 64th Annual Arkansas Folk Festival on April 17–18! Enjoy a stroll through our historic downtown and explore creative window displays, the Artisans Market featuring handcrafted works, antique cars, tasty food vendors, and celebrations of treasured folk traditions such as storytelling, quilting, blacksmithing, old-time crafts, dancing, and—of course—live folk music on the courthouse square. The festival parade will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Free shuttle service will be available between the Ozark Folk Center and the court square for your convenience. Bring your instruments, tap your toes, and join us for some good old-fashioned pickin’ and grinnin’!

All approved judges, please arrive at the Judge’s Tent behind the Courthouse by 2:45 PM. You’ll get a quick rundown of the competition rules, learn how the scoring works, and then—best part—smoked pork butt will be delivered for you to taste and judge. Let the flavor adventure begin!
