About the event

Mountain Heritage Days is a gift from Western Carolina University to the community, hosting week-long educational events showcasing how much we value this incredible, beautiful region we call home and its diverse culture and history. Following with a free, outdoor festival where visitors can enjoy unique demonstrations, live entertainment, and tons of family-friendly activities, as well as arts and crafts / food vendors, celebrating Appalachian Mountain culture! Terms & Conditions

By submitting your application, you are accepting the Terms and Conditions.

There are a limited number of booth spaces available; they are assigned by the jurying committee, regardless of past involvement. Once receiving your application, a juried committee will review it and you will receive an email notification reflecting the status of your application. If your application is approved, booth fees will be due.

Booth spaces are 12’X12’.

 

Your organization must supply its own tent, tables, chairs, and display materials.   Electricity is NOT provided.   On your application, give a detailed description of the information and/or services you will be providing/doing at your booth, including any items/merchandise you will be selling and/or giving away.  You are allowed to sell your fundraising souvenirs, merchandise, memberships, etc. Sales are limited to the items described in your application, thus approved by the MHD Committee. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in dismissal from the festival without refund.  You may share your booth space with another group/organization, as long as it has also applied and is approved. No selling or giving away food or beverages unless they are a juried product, or you are an approved “pre-packaged foods” vendor.
No demonstration, selling, or promotion of arts and crafts are allowed.
No generators or loud sound systems are allowed.
No selling or solicitation outside of assigned booth space.

 

The location is determined by the MHD Committee after the fee is paid. Vendors must stay open to the public until 3 pm. No vehicles will be allowed onto the grounds until 3:30 pm or festival management deems it safe. The festival is held outdoors, rain or shine. There are no refunds due to weather. In the event of a lighting delay, you will be asked to secure your booth and patrons to seek shelter indoors or their vehicles where they can tune into 95.3 WWCU for current information on weather and when the event will resume. No booth assignments will be made until the fee is paid. The MHD Committee reserves the right to change vendor booth assignments due to the circumstances on the day of the event. Cancellations in writing by August 15, 2026, will receive a 50% refund. Your signature on the application form constitutes an agreement for your organization to be bound by the stated policies – this applies to all your organization’s associates present at MHD.
