About the application

The Arkansas Championship Outhouse Races will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 in Mountain View, Arkansas!

The fun kicks off with the Parade of Outhouses around 1:00 PM, when the crowd gathers to cheer on their favorite “people-powered potty” teams. Each wheeled outhouse comes complete with a steering device for the fearless driver—who just so happens to be seated on a potty seat—while two mighty pushers supply the horsepower.

Teams go all out, dressing in costumes to match the theme of their privy, and all sense of seriousness disappears as racers line up on Howard Avenue to compete in heats for the title of Fastest Privy in the Ozarks.

About the event

BEANS & CORNBREAD Get ready for the ultimate comfort-food celebration! Thousands of hungry festival-goers will gather to savor 1,000 pounds of pinto beans simmering away in giant cast-iron cauldrons. While you’re here, wander through the Bean Fest Artisans Market on the Square, bursting with unique handmade treasures crafted by talented artists from all across Arkansas. CHAMPIONSHIP OUTHOUSE RACES You’ve never seen anything like this! Watch as hilariously decorated outhouses—yes, real “people-powered potties”—zoom down the street with fearless drivers perched proudly on toilet seats. These teams are racing hard for glory, bragging rights, and the ultimate prize: the decorated toilet seat (plus cash!). MUSIC The good vibes never stop! Enjoy live music on the Courthouse Stage all weekend long, then stroll over to Pickin’ Park where locals and visiting musicians spark up spontaneous jam sessions under the gazebos. It’s pure Ozark magic you don’t want to miss!
