CCAF2025 - ADULT (18+) - Chalk Art Artists Application
About the application
Two-day commitment, October 18th & 19th. **Read EVERYTHING.** You will NOT be charged the application fee until you are accepted. All fees go to support this annual festival. We will provide each artist one meal ticket each day for use at our CCAF2025 Food Truck Vendors, a t-shirt per artist, some supplies, and one 20-count Soho Urban Artist Jumbo Sidewalk Chalk Pastels per CHALKING SPACE. We will have water available, and as always, we recommend you bring whatever else you need to stay nourished, hydrated, and to complete your chalk art design over and above the items we will have available.
The Charlotte Chalk Art Festival (CCAF) features a Chalk Art Competition for Youth ages 12-17 and Adults 18+ on October 18 and 19 from 12 pm to 5 pm. Artists compete for Cash Prizes as follows: Individual Youth 12-17 - 1st Place $250, 2nd Place $125, 3rd Place $75, Youth Team (2-3ppl) 12-17 - 1st Place ONLY $300, and Adult 18+ 1st Place $400, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100. Local artists serve as judges. CCAF2025 will take place at NoDa Brewing Company's North End location, 150 W 32nd St, Charlotte, NC 28206. CCAF2025 is produced by Creative Canvas Productions, LLC, with lead sponsorship support from Eventful Expressions, NPC, NoDa Brewing, and Jerry's Artarama Charlotte
About the event

Your application must be filled out completely.
Artists must submit a SKETCH and Description of their proposed artwork, 2 sample images of past chalk artwork, and 1 social media SQUARE headshot image of you only in .jpg or .png form.
If selected, you will be asked to sign a waiver, and a deadline for submitting that form will be provided at the time of acceptance.
Artists will be notified between late July and September 30, 2025, if they have been selected to participate. Priority goes to artists located in the surrounding Charlotte, North Carolina, and South Carolina areas. Not all who apply will be accepted. You are REQUIRED to be on-site BOTH days. On October 18th and 19th, please arrive no later than 10:15 am for check-in, chalking begins at 10:30 am each day. Artists must complete their chalk art submission by 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 18th, and by 4:15 pm on Sunday, October 19th.
To be considered, you must be 18 years of age by October 18, 2025. Friends, family, or other people may not assist any selected artists in the creation of the chalk art design unless they are a member of the team, where applicable. The Charlotte Chalk Art Festival committee reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.
If accepted, you will be REQUIRED to sign a Waiver Form.
CCAF is a two-day RAIN OR SHINE EVENT EXCEPT DURING SEVERE WEATHER STORMS – NO REFUNDS WILL BE PROVIDED ONCE ACCEPTED.
CCAF committee reserves the right to CLOSE the festival on either day due to extreme weather or public safety concerns, without refund to the artist. We reserve the right to POSTPONE the festival before October 18th should there be warnings of extreme weather, without a refund to the artist. Should there be a POSTPONEMENT, the festival will be moved to dates TBD, and all approved artists will retain their spot, without refund to the artist. No additional payment will be required.
