About the application

Inviting kids of all ages, families, and friends to participate in the second annual Belmont Gingerbread House Contest! All are encouraged to register and craft a confectionery creation to win bragging rights for the holiday season! Join in the family fun of Christmas Village by submitting an application to enter into the gingerbread house competition.

Terms & Conditions

Registration 
  • Pre-registration is required to participate in the Gingerbread House Contest
  • Applications close the night prior to Christmas Village (Friday, December 2)
  • Gingerbread house must be delivered to City Hall (115 North Main Street, Belmont NC 28012) between 11 AM - 1 PM on the day of Christmas Village, Saturday, December 3
  • Gingerbread houses submitted after 1 PM will not be eligible to participate in the gingerbread house contest
  • Gingerbread houses must be picked up by 9 PM on Saturday, December 3
  • Any houses remaining in front of City Hall after 9 PM will be discarded
  Rules & Requirements
  • No kits allowed
  • No larger than 16” square platform (no legs allowed)
  • No higher than 22”No plug-in lights (battery powered lights are acceptable)
  • 20 lb weight limit
  • Must be edible for human consumption with the exception of the platform (no wood, styrofoam, etc. inside the house)
  Voting & Awards
  • Houses will be on display in front of City Hall
  • Judging will take place throughout the day as members of the public vote for their favorite gingerbread house
  • One winner will be selected and have bragging rights throughout the holiday season 
  • Gingerbread House Contest Winner will be announced the evening of Christmas Village on the steps of City Hall at 5:30 PM
