Junior Makers Market Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Amherst County Fair. This very special event will provide your business with exposure to a large audience. Join us September 4-7, 2025, at the Amherst County Fairgrounds on Sweet Briar Drive. Fairground hours will be. 

Thursday: 5 pm-10 pm 

Friday: 5 pm-10 pm 

Saturday 12 pm-10 pm

Sunday 12 pm-6 pm

• The Amherst County Fair is excited for the return of the Junior Maker’s Market. Amherst is filled with talented young people, and we want to give them the chance to share their work with the community at a discounted rate.

• Amherst County youth under the age of 18 are invited to be vendors at this year’s market.

• The vendor fee is $10.00 per day. A 6-foot table will be provided in the Market Tent. Makers may share a table.

• The Market will be open Friday, September 5th, through Sunday, September 7th.

• Slots will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• All items sold must be handmade by the youth vendor.

Application fees are non-refundable after 7 days of the dated written approval letter. To ensure the opportunity for a booth space at the Amehrst County Fair, please submit your application and payment as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Applications are for consideration of space only and do not guarantee a location at the Fair. If accepted, you will be notified. If your application is not approved, you will receive notification.

RULES

• The market is open to Amherst County makers/creatives under 18.
• All products being sold must be handmade by the youth maker.
• Products made from kits are permitted.
• There will be three sessions of the Maker’s Market:
  • Friday 5:00 pm-10:00 pm
  • Saturday 12:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Sunday 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
• You may sign up for more than one day. 
• Each maker will be provided with a 6-foot table and two chairs. Youth are responsible for their tablecloths and displays.
• Set-up must be completed by the time the gates open.
• Youth may share a table.
• Youth should spend the majority of their time manning their table.
• Youth will receive one free entry for an adult/support person to assist at their table. Additional family members must purchase fair entry. 
• Youths should be accompanied by an adult.
• Spots are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
