Plein Air Liberty

Date Nocturne: October 3rd, Friday

• Time: 5:30pm to 8pm

Date Main Event: October 4th, Saturday

· Time: 8am to 5pm

· Location: Historic Downtown Liberty

Participation Details:

· Who Can Participate: Artists of all skill levels

· Registration: Ongoing

· Pre registration Fee: $35 (includes a care package) early bird registration ends September 9th, 2025.

· Event Day Registration: $45

· Plein Air Liberty participants will be given more information about the purchase award locations at the event.

· Participants will be able to submit up to three pieces for consideration for best of show.

· All paintings that are considered for cash or purchase prizes must be wired and hung by 4:45pm.

· Artists paint within the Historic Downtown boundaries. (Map will be Provided)

Schedule Friday Night:

Friday Night:

• 5pm have your canvas date stamped at the Artisan Market.
• Paint around Liberty Square.
• 8pm deadline to return your paintings to the Artisan Market for judging on Saturday.

Schedule Saturday:

• · 8am to 10am: Artists gather at The Artisan Market to have their canvases date-stamped
• · 8am to 4pm: Artists paint within the Historic Downtown boundaries. (Map Provided
• 4pm to 4:45pm: Artists convene at City Hall to hang their works for judging. ALL WORK MUST BE WIRED TO HANG. Judging begins at 5pm sharp.
• 5pm TO 7PM: Judging, Awards, Refreshments and Artist Meet and Greet.
• Work will remain in City hall until the end of October.

· Historic Churches within the boudaries

· Corbin Mill

· Jesse James Bank and Museum

· Many other historical sites, parks, and hundreds of beautiful historic homes.

Awards:

· Cash prizes: 

 Best of Show $500 1st Nocturne: $250 1st main event: $250 2nd main event: $150 3rd main event: $100

· (3) $300 Purchase prizes selected by sponsors

To be eligible for prizes you must register and be stamped on the day of the event. By registering you agree to sell anything entered in the awards process. You are not required to enter all paintings completed on the day of the event. Paintings may be sold from your easel anytime during the event. If a painting is sold in advance, it will not be eligible for the Purchase Award or Cash competition. All paintings must be created in the Historic Downtown Liberty District.

By participating in this event you agree to the following; Liberty Plein Air 2025 is provided with no special warranty either expressed or implied. The organizers, including but not limited to the event volunteers and The Artisan Market assume no liability for any loss, theft, damage or injury to property or persons whether arising in contract, negligence, equity or otherwise. Participation in the event is considered "at your own risk." All participants must use due care under the circumstances to comply with all rules regulations, statutes and laws of the state of Missouri and the City of Liberty.  

*Young Artists (10 to 17 yrs old)  must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parent or guardian must complete and sign the application.
