Attention independent authors and poets! Hops Scotch Bottle Shop is thrilled to announce "The Writer's Exchange," a unique opportunity to showcase and sell your books directly to the public.

 

The Writer's Exchange aims to support independent authors and poets by providing a platform to sell their books directly to the public at Hops Scotch Bottle Shop. The project will feature a rotating selection of six authors every three months, culminating in a public event to celebrate their work and connect with the community.

 

Project Goals:

 

  • Increase visibility and sales opportunities for independent authors and poets.
  • Foster a supportive community for writers.
  • Enhance the cultural offerings at Hops Scotch Bottle Shop.
  • Provide a unique shopping and event experience for customers.

Terms & Conditions

By submitting an application to "The Writer's Exchange" at Hops Scotch Bottle Shop, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

 

Eligibility:

  • You must be the author and copyright holder of the submitted book.
  • The book must be available in a physical format (paperback, hardcover, etc.).
  • You must be able to participate in the full vending period (if selected) and the culminating public event.

Submission:

  • All applications must be submitted by the specified deadline.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • You grant Hops Scotch Bottle Shop and the organizers of The Writer's Exchange the right to use your submitted information (name, book title, etc.) for promotional purposes related to the project.

Selection:

  • The selection of authors will be made by the designated juror.
  • The juror's decision is final and not subject to appeal.
  • Selected authors will be notified via email.

Participation:

  • If selected, you agree to vend your book at Hops Scotch Bottle Shop during the specified three-month period.
  • You are responsible for providing your own inventory, display materials, and any necessary equipment.
  • You agree to participate in the culminating public event (meet-and-greet and panel discussion).

Sales and Commission:

  • You will retain 100% of the proceeds from your book sales.
  • Hops Scotch Bottle Shop and the organizers of The Writer's Exchange will not take any commission.

Liability:

  • Hops Scotch Bottle Shop and the organizers of The Writer's Exchange are not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of your books or personal belongings during the vending period or public event.

Termination:

  • Hops Scotch Bottle Shop and the organizers of The Writer's Exchange reserve the right to terminate your participation in the project at any time for any reason.

Miscellaneous:

  • These terms and conditions may be updated or modified at any time without prior notice.
  • By submitting an application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
