About the application

So, you want to show off your amazing art/goods?

 

Apply for a spot to display and sell your work at First Wednesday Art Walk. We welcome and encourage submissions of unique, original, and authentic works of art and handmade goods. Our event celebrates creativity and craftsmanship, and we value pieces that reflect the artist’s individual voice, vision, and effort. Mass-produced or commercially manufactured items will not be considered.

 

This application requires a nonrefundable $45 fee. You will want to read all the way through the Terms & Conditions before you hit submit.
 
Items Allowed: 

 

  • Materials/Crafts/Art:
    • Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.

    • Fiber/Clothing: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No forms of mass production techniques will be accepted. 

    • Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes, are permitted.

    • Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts may not be exhibited.

    • Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.

    • Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.

    • Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.

    • Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.

    • Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only the artist’s original source material is acceptable.

    • Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed.

    • Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.

    • Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Artists may sell prints of their original work.

    • Wood: Original works that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned, or carved.
  • Goods/Other
    • Self-care products such as candles, essential oils, and crystals
    • Antiques
    • Plants & Flowers

Items NOT allowed at Art Walk include:

  • Kits, imports, and mass-produced items purchased for resale
  • Items created by another artist
  • Art containing explicit language, violence, hate speech, graphic nudity, or anything else questionable for small children. This is a family-friendly event.
  • Farm/produce vendors

About the event

Downtown Jacksonville’s First Wednesday Art Walk strives to create a community setting that celebrates the local artistry, creativity and talent of our city. The First Wednesday Art Walk is a monthly, family-friendly event produced by Downtown Vision (DVI), the Business Improvement District, to bring people to the cultural and historical center of the city and showcase Jacksonville’s deep and energetic pool of creative talent. Art Walk is open to visual and performing artists on the first Wednesday of every month from 5–9 p.m., rain or shine. Art Walk venues stretch across Downtown Jacksonville’s Northbank core and includes James Weldon Johnson Park, galleries, museums, restaurants, bars, Downtown businesses, and more. The First Wednesday Art Walk is a great way to meet fellow artists, buy and appreciate their work, and be part of Jacksonville's rapidly growing art scene.

Terms & Conditions

  • Submitting an application does not guarantee your acceptance into the event.
  • No forms of mass production techniques will be accepted. 
  • Food vendors, entertainers, businesses, non profit organizations or religious/political affiliated groups are not to apply as an artist.  
  • Upon approval, artists/makers will need to RSVP each month for a booth space. Approval does not automatically reserve a spot each month. Details for the event will be emailed once a booth space is reserved. 
  • The participation fee is $45/month.
  • Artists are responsible for providing their own setup including: tables, a tent, tent weights, chairs, extension cords, etc.

 

Downtown Vision, Inc. (“DVI”), as the producer, maintains its sole discretion to approve or deny any potential vendor, artist, or other participant at First Wednesday Art Walk based on the best interests of the event and its attendees.

Participation Fee $45.00 Non-refundable Single booth space is 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep. Participation fee will be charged at every event you participate in.
