BACK FOR IT'S 2ND YEAR - Art Garden KC's Berkley Riverfront Fest is quickly becoming Kansas City’s most anticipated weekly hub for entertainment and community connection! This free event, drives festival lovers from all over the Midwest to gather, each Sunday, along the green spaces and river views of Berkley Riverfront Park! Each Sunday is filled with local art, food, music and creative activities. FEATURES: -Over 60 vendors featuring unique, handmade jewelry, décor, ceramics, clothing, art and more! - Open Mic Jams and live music - Food Trucks for all the munchies - Wellness Garden featuring rotating classes each week (breathwork, yoga, tai chi, astrology, sound bowls, meditation) - Henna, tarot, face-painting and caricature services - Yard Games - Live Art - and so much more! Our events foster community, drive cultural tourism and provides local creatives a space to grow without risk. Shop handcrafted local works from KC makers in the gorgeous, Berkley Riverfront Park! Major thank you to our wonderful friends and sponsor, Port KC ❤ **NOTE TO VENDORS** Artist & Maker applications open weekly on Mondays. Artist & Maker Info: This is a “Roll Call” style event open to new and experienced vendors! The application for this event will open every Monday, the first 60 vendors to respond will be reserved a space. We do not curate this event - all handmade artists & makers within a 50mi radius of KC are welcome to join, regardless of experience or skill-level! It’s a hippie-fest by the river - have fun, be kind and make friends ✌

About the application

Hello KC Tastemakers! Berkley Riverfront Festival is BACK and we are so excited to bring local KC eats to our Sunday festivals, again! Please carefully read the info below before applying.
 
This application is open to ALL Kansas City-based food trucks with required KC permits and licenses. There is no application or vending fee for this event! 
 
Applying does not guarantee space. Your application will be reviewed and if you meet all requirements our Food Truck Coordinator will contact you for scheduling :)
 
Event Details
  • The volume of patrons varies by event and usually depends on the weather. This year we are projecting 1,500 attendees in the 5 hour span of each Sunday event.
  • A total of 1 beverage/dessert truck and 3 food trucks will be accepted each Sunday.
  • We do our best to rotate the trucks that are accepted to give new trucks an opportunity and to keep a good mix of food choices each event date. *Please note: if similar food categories apply for the same date, we do our best not to book similar trucks for the same date.

  • Tax ID* 
    *Port KC, the organization that owns Berkley Riverfront, requests that we provide business info for the Food Trucks we host at our event. The Missouri Department of Revenue collects a 1% sales and use tax for Berkley Riverfront Park known as the Port Improvement District #1 (PID1) Sales Tax, to help support park and river improvements. Vendors are responsible for reporting their sales and location of sales to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
    General questions about the PID may be addressed to Port KC at (816) 559-3756 or info@portkc.com. Questions concerning the tax rate or how to report sales tax within the district on your return can be addressed to Missouri Department of Revenue Local Sales Tax Section at (573) 751-4876 or localgov@dor.mo.gov.
Set-Up Details
  • Scheduled food trucks arrive no later than 10:30 for set-up and preparation.
  • Picnic tables are scattered under the trees throughout the event site. Many food trucks bring tables and shaded canopies for their customer's convenience, we encourage you to do the same :) There will be plenty of space in front of your truck's window.
  • Food trucks must provide a trash receptacle near their booth AND dispose of trash after event. Do NOT leave trash bags behind for our team to collect.
  • We do not have electrical access for the food vendors at this location.
Accessibility & Parking
  • Scheduled food trucks will be sent maps and a day-of instructions.
  • Each trailer is allotted ONE towing vehicle in the Riverfront walkway, and must be hitched. Port KC (park management) requires at least 24” of walkway is accessible to patrons when food trucks are parked Sundays for safety. All additional staff vehicles must be parked in the gravel lot to the south of the event.
  • No driving or parking on the grass.
Cancellations
  • In the event of emergencies/equipment failure/illness - Scheduled Food Trucks must agree contact us no later than 2 hours before the event so we can adjust. 
  • In the event of inclement weather (heavy rain, wind gusts over 25 mph, thunder/lighting, saturated grounds) Art Garden KC will send formal notification to all participating parties and post notice on our social media. 
No Show Policy
We have a 3 strike policy on no shows (warning, corrective action, removal from future events and contact list) Please let us know if you have any questions.
 
Promotion
  • AGKC will promote scheduled food trucks the week prior to the event. Include logos and pictures of your munchies in your application.
  • Food trucks are encourage to promote the event by sharing our Food Truck posts/stories. Tags: @artgardenkc @berkleyriverfrontpark - Event Hashtags: #ArtGardenKC #BerkleyRiverfrontPark 
Community
We want to emphasize helping each other out! AGKC is a community, and is built on the support of others when a hand is needed. We encourage you to reach out to your fellow food trucks at the event. Be kind and have fun! Collaboration > Competition ✌
 
Property Damage
Art Garden Kansas City LLC and its partners, contractors, agents or officials are hereby released from any responsibility or liability for loss or damage of merchandise or property while it is being displayed/stored in this location.
Vendors are responsible for their own personal liability and/or general liability insurance.
