About the application

Would you like to be considered to perform a cultural presentation in the intimate setting of a Diversitastic Dining Event? FusionFest holds monthly dining events in local, small scale restaurants to continue its mission of celebrating diversity. Whether you have been referred, or just want to apply, please have the following points in mind: 
  • Music and/or dance cultural performances are generally included as part of the dining events, as well as heritage speakers. These performances and talks must match the specific culture being celebrated at the event.
  • These are intimate performances taking place in local restaurants for anywhere between 30 to 90 people. Most of the time no stage is available, and it is recommended to keep a small number of performers to fit the venue.
  • FusionFest is able to provide an audio engineer and sound system for the event. Performers will be required to list their technical needs in this application in order to be considered.
  • Dancing groups are responsible for making their music tracks available to the audio engineer, and to be prepared with connectors to connect their devices to the sound system.
  • Musicians are responsible for bringing their own instruments and communicate with the audio engineer about their technical needs.
  • Heritage speakers must provide files and/or presentation assets prior to the event.
  • All approved acts will be given a "Show Flow" with the program for the evening and performers must follow this program and schedule, unless otherwise stated by the organizers.
  • These events give performers and speakers an opportunity to promote pride in their culture. A small stipend is available for the performers, but the performance time would be short (like 15 minutes total at most) and the motivation should spring from cultural pride.
  • Performers will be encouraged to promote the event on their social media platforms and within their network. 
  • All ticket sales from the event go to pay the local restaurants, further FusionFest's mission, and provide for the performers, so it is in everyone's interest to promote.

LIABILILTY AND PHOTO RELEASE   I (or my child/ren) am voluntarily participating in this program, class or event written above. In return for the opportunity to participate, I voluntarily for myself (or my child/ren) waive, release, indemnify and hold harmless Orange County and FusionFest, Inc. and their officers and employees from any liabilities, claims, damages, injuries, losses, and expenses including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs whatsoever, including those for personal injury, death or property damage, which may arise from or in connection with participation in this program, class or event.   If this registration is for one of my minor child/ren, I hereby consent to emergency treatment and transportation of my minor child for any condition which may arise during, from, or in connection with participation in this program, class or event and I shall be responsible for the payment of all costs associated with such emergency treatment or transportation. Further, I hereby give permission to Orange County and FusionFest, Inc. to use any photographs taken by the County or FusionFest, Inc., its officers, employees, or agents, of either me or my child/ren during participation in this program, class or event. I agree such photographs shall be the property of Orange County or FusionFest, Inc. and I am not entitled to compensation of any kind for the use of such photographs. I agree to abide by all County, State and federal ordinances, rules and regulations, and understand that Orange County and FusionFest, Inc. have the right to change fees and requirements when necessary. This release shall remain in effect until canceled in writing.   Notice to the minor child’s natural guardian: Read this form completely and carefully.   You are agreeing that, even if Orange County or FusionFest, Inc. uses reasonable care in providing this activity, there is a chance your child may be seriously injured or killed by participating in this activity because there are certain dangers inherent in the activity which cannot be avoided or eliminated. By signing this form you are giving up your child’s right and your right to recover from Orange County or FusionFest, Inc. in a lawsuit for any personal injury, including death, to your child or any property damage that results from the risks that are a natural part of the activity.   You have the right to refuse to sign this form, and Orange County or FusionFest, Inc. has the right to refuse to let your child participate if you do not sign this form.
