About the event

Alpharetta Art in the Park (AITP) celebrates its 14th year! AITP is a 2 day event held one weekend a month in Brooke Street Park in the City Center Shopping District next to City Hall in downtown Alpharetta, Georgia. This artist market features handcrafted products and original artwork created by artisans from the local Alpharetta art community, from the metro Atlanta area, the state of Georgia & communities beyond. Art in the Park was created by artists for artists and 14 years later continues to be led by an active working Artist who knows all the hard work and patience that is required to be an exhibitor in festivals and artist markets. We want our artist and exhibitors to be successful, that is why we strictly enforce that no "buy-sell" merchandise is allowed in our monthly artist markets. Artist Market dates for 2024: April 20-21 May 18-19 June 29-30 July 27-28 August 24-25 September 28-29 October 26-27     Something of note that is truly unique to our market on Saturday mornings is our close proximity to the Alpharetta Farmers Market which consistently brings big crowds to the City Center Shopping District where our event is located. We are literally on the other side of the street, so our event gets an extra boost from all the increased activity and shoppers in the area, Saturday morning. Both events compliment each other and are a great combination for the community of Alpharetta.

Tent standards:
  • WHITE TENTS ONLY!  It is the only acceptable tent color allowed to exhibit at Art in the Park. The city of Alpharetta would like continuity in our appearance.
  • EZ-Up or similar style and that specific structural design with center canopy Pole.  It is the safest low cost design option to prevent canopy collapse in the  rain.  It also is the only style that meets our minimum standard - 90% of all working artists/exhibitors already own this specific tent.
  • Tents must have 40# of weight per leg, regardless of weather forecast. This is not optional, plan accordingly please!! No water jugs or kitty litter jugs.  If you use barbels or disc weights, they must be stamped with the number 40 or if using multiples, they must add up to 40 per tent leg.  If you cannot physically manage the 40#'s of weight per leg, it will be your responsibility to get the required amount of weight securely attached to your tent legs via bringing along a helper with you at the time of set-up to assist you with lifting and the placement of the weights.
  • Tents CANNOT be staked in park grounds due to gas lines that run underground for the gas lantern lighting throughout the park.
  • Tents cannot be secured using trees or lamp posts or any other structure in the park.
  • Overnight security is provided on Saturday night only.  However, It is your responsibility to make sure that nothing of value is left overnight.  Art in the Park, Michael Hipps and the security team cannot be held responsible for items that are missing, lost or stolen.
