Vendor Types:
We have five application categories for vendors:
Local Hand Made (LHM):
1. “Local Hand Made” (LHM) vendors live and create in the Florida Keys at least 25% of the year (3 months).
2. LHM vendors are artists and craftspeople that make original work by hand. Printing of original work is permitted so long as it’s represented as such.
3. LHM vendors may be asked to explain their process and demonstrate how they create their sale items
4. All items for sale must be in the category applied for and listed in the application. Any additional items must be approved by Daily Plan-it. Example: If you apply in the Ceramic category, you may not sell paintings
5. LHM may not sell anything in their booth that is NOT hand made by the Artist themselves.
6. Artists shall be present in their booth, they may not have a representative selling for them. They may have an assistant with them.
Local Brand (LB)
1. “Local Brand” (LB) vendors must live and design in the Florida Keys at least 51% of the year (6 months and a day).
2. LB vendor products must have a general FL Keys theme or connection and be designed by the person in the booth. Their merchandise may be manufactured commercially.
3. LB vendors may be asked to demonstrate or show their original designs
4. All items for sale must be in the category applied for and listed in the application. Any additional items must be approved by Daily Plan-it. Example: If you apply in the Active Wear category, you may not sell jewelry
5. LB may not send surrogates or employees to work the booth unless accompanied by the brand designer
Curated/Buy Sell (CBS)
1. “Curated/Buy-Sell” (CBS) vendors must live in the Florida Keys at least 34% of the year (4 months). Their
2. The items must all be of a certain specific theme and of good quality and must not compete with any LHM or LB vendor. CBS vendors absolutely may not sell jewelry and certain other products represented by LHM
3. CBS merchandise may be manufactured commercially but not produced locally. No product in the collection may be handmade.
4. CBS vendors must display the origin of their products and they may not misrepresent the product’s origin or manufacture.
5. All items for sale must be in the category applied for and listed in the application. Any additional items must be approved by Daily Plan-it. Example: If you apply as curated Nautical items, you may not sell handbags.
Food Made Onsite (FMO)
1. “Food Made Onsite” (FMO) vendors must live in the Florida Keys 34% of the year (4 months). If there are no Keys-local food vendors offering a specific product, applications from vendors in Homestead and the Redlands will be considered.
2. FMO vendors may prep food offsite, but it must be cooked onsite at the event.
3. All menu items for sale must be listed in the application. Any additional items must be approved by Daily Plan-it. Example: If your main item is Ceviche, you may not sell burgers.
Pre-Packaged Food (PPF)
1. “Pre-Packaged Food” (PPF) vendors must live in the Florida Keys 34% of the year (4 months). If there are no Keys-local food vendors selling the same item(s), applications from vendors on the mainland will be considered.
2. PPF food must be prepared and packaged offsite by the vendor.
3. All menu items for sale must be listed in the application. Any additional items must be approved by Daily Plan-it. Example: If your main item is Nuts, you may not sell cookies.
Vendor Category Descriptions: Vendors may apply for 1 category. Jewelry may only be sold by vendors accepted in the Jewelry category. All work displayed in the booth must be for sale. Significant alteration of commercial components in any work is required.
- Apparel: Clothing including shirts, dresses, skirts, pants, beachwear etc
- Art: Drawings and paintings. You'll know it when you see it
- Candle: Scented or unscented, soy or wax, poured or molded
- Ceramic/Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.
- Health: Handmade soaps, lip balms, lotions, serums, rubs, tinctures, etc
- Fiber/Textile: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.
- Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.
- Jewelry: All jewelry whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials must be entered in this category. No commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed.
- Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.
- Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.
- Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments. Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.
- Other: Something that is not included in this list
- Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable.
- Printmaking: Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush; printed works for which the artist’s hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition.
- Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
- Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Reproduction prints are not allowed.
- Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.
