About the event

About the Show - The 2024 Festival show will mark the 57th annual Bel Air Festival for the Arts, sponsored by the Bel Air Recreation Committee. With up to 300 artists, photographers and craftspeople, the show represents one of the largest one-day events in the Mid-Atlantic Region. When is the Show - The 2024 Bel Air Festival for the Arts will be held on September 15, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Where is the Show - The Bel Air Festival for the Arts will be held in Shamrock Park on 39 Hickory Avenue in Bel Air, Maryland. Shamrock Park is located behind the Bel Air Public Library and the Bel Air Town Hall and Police Headquarters building To Apply - Online Exhibitor Applications for are open now on the festival website at Additional Information - The show includes some of the finest and most unique fine art, photography, and hand-made crafts on the east coast. The Festival features continuous live entertainment on the bandshell stage plus performers roving through the crowds. A wide variety of wonderful foods are available. Profits from food concession sales go directly to benefit Bel Air Parks and Recreation programs. Offering a great opportunity for early holiday shopping, as well as food, entertainment, and activities for the children, the Bel Air Festival for the Arts is an event the entire family will enjoy. Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the Festival grounds. Remember, the Bel Air Festival for the Arts is ALWAYS a "rain or shine" event. The Bel Air Festival for the Arts receives support from the Town of Bel Air and from a Commnity Arts Development Grant from the Harford County Cultural Arts Board.

This is an electronic agreement and by selecting the booths, you are validating and approving this agreement electronically.
 
Categories:
 
Artists may apply in up to 3 categories. You must submit a separate application for each category. Only the painting, other media and photography categories are judged for show awards.
 
  • Painting: Oil/Acrylic - Original work only, reproduction prints are not considered for this category (Judged Category)
  • Painting:  Watercolor - Original work only, reproduction prints are not considered for this category. (Judged Category)
  • Other Media:  Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.  Must include painting and/or photography as one of the mediums (Judged Category)
  • Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable. (Judged Category)
  • Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.
  • Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.
  • Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.
  • Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts may not be exhibited.If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must also apply in Jewelry.
  • Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.
  • Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.
  • Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.
  • Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered.
  • Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
  • Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.
  • Literature: Original illustrated and non-illustrated published works by the author.  This is a new category for the Bel Air Festival of the Arts.
  • Food: Handcrafted, packaged food items approved for sale to the public. Only a limited number of exhibitors will be accepted. 
 

Terms & Conditions

ELIGIBILITY
 
  • All items exhibited must be hand made by the person(s) signing the application and that person must be in attendance the day of the festival.
  • NO commercially produced items will be accepted.Buy/Sell” items – goods purchased by the crafter and then sold under his/her name are STRICTLY PROHIBITED in this show. The festival committee reserves the right to pass judgment in regard to both of the above rules of eligibility not only when reviewing applications, but also on the day of the show. Those found not to be in compliance will be asked to leave.
  • All craft items for sale at the festival must be completed craft products. No unassembled products will be allowed. This includes unfinished wood items, bunches of dried/fresh flowers and kits.
LIMITED REFUND POLICY - As a BARC-sponsored event, the Bel Air Festival for the Arts and all of its participants are required to abide by the BARC Limited Refund Policy which is provided in the documents section.
 
CODE OF CONDUCT - As a BARC-sponsored event, the Bel Air Festival for the Arts and all of its participants are required to abide by the BARC Code of Conduct which is provided in the documents section. Exhibitors who fail to adhere to this Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the festival venue and prohibited from participating in future Bel Air Festival for the Arts.
 
LIABILITY RELEASE - As a BARC-sponsored event, the Bel Air Festival for the Arts and all of its participants are required to abide by the BARC Liability Release which is provided in the documents section.

Prices

10x10 Booth - All Exhibitors (available until July 1, 2024) $175 Non-refundable Booth rental for exhibtors after March 1, 2024.
10x10 Booth - Late Registration - All Exhibitors (Available from July 1- August 31, 2024) $200 Non-refundable Booth rental for late exhibitors ( Jul 1- Aug 31, 24).
10x10 Booth - Last Minute Registration (Exhibitor information will not be included in the program.) $250 Non-refundable Last minute registration. Exhibitor information will NOT be included in the Printed Programs.

Picture requirements

  • Minimum pictures required: 3
  • Each application must include at least 3 color photos of your art, photography or craft. You may also include at one photo of your booth set-up and one photo of you making your items, of your work space or your overall creative process if your work could be mistaken for commercially produced.
