About the application

Space for Arts & Crafts Vendors Categories:Artists may apply for up to 3 categories. 
  • You MUST submit a separate application for each type.
  • If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if the jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must apply in Jewelry.
  • All work displayed in the booth must be for sale.
 Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural. Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing or other forms of mass production are accepted. Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, casting, and all cold working processes are permitted. Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts are not permitted. Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category. Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments only. Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature. Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only the artist’s original source material is acceptable. Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered. Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium. Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Reproduction prints are not allowed. Wood: Original works hand-tooled, machine worked, turned, or carved.

About the event

The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the rich fossil record of North Carolina. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and good old-fashioned southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, fossil auction, educational displays by partner nonprofit organizations, movie night, parade, live entertainment, food & craft vendors, dinosaur shows, glow party, and much, much more!

Terms & Conditions

Please read all the information below before beginning your application. As a vendor, you are responsible for understanding all terms and conditions.
 
This is an electronic agreement, and by submitting your application, you agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions.
 
All vendors are personally responsible for collecting, reporting, and remittance of sales tax as required by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. The North Carolina Fossil Festival and the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc. assume no responsibility regarding vendors' collection, reporting, and remittance of sales tax for sales during the North Carolina Fossil Festival.
 
Vendors must provide their own table(s), chair(s), and set-ups. All tents and coverings must be weighted to prevent becoming airborne in the event of windy conditions. Cylinder/sleeve weights or water canisters are preferred. No stakes may be driven into asphalt or hard paved surfaces. All tents, coverings, and vendor sales areas will be inspected for safety before the event’s opening.
 
  • Applying does not guarantee acceptance into the festival.
  • Only applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted.
  • A $10.00 non-refundable application fee is required.
  • Applications received by mail or email will automatically be rejected.
  • A committee selects applicants by vendor application only.
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered. 
  • Applications missing photos will not be considered.
  • Applications are due by 6 pm EST on April 24, 2024.
  • Vendors will be notified via email of the decision.
  • Once approved, vendors will automatically be charged for the total vendor fee and an approval email will be sent.
 
By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury, or loss arising from or in connection with using the space or grounds during the North Carolina Fossil Festival.
 
I also understand that the NC Fossil Festival is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds of vendor fees in the event the NC Fossil Festival is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather.
