About the event

Mountain Makins is an Appalachian Folk Life Festival celebrating the unique culture of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Known for high quality crafts and artisans, the festival features a juried arts & crafts fair, top regional musical talent, storytellers, authors, craft demonstrations, and children's activities. About the application

The award-winning Mountain Makins Festival at historic Rose Center in Morristown, TN is a weekend folk life festival. The festival honors the rich traditions of the past, and supports modern interpretations of those traditions. More than just a fine art and craft show, visitors to the family-friendly event enjoy two stages of mountain music!

Terms & Conditions

  1. Festival Hours:  Friday, October 25 6:30 pm to 9 pm (Preview Party)
                                      Saturday, October 28: 10am - 5pm
                                      Sunday, October 29: 11am - 5pm
  2. Check In:Please arrive at the stage 30 minutes prior to your first performance.
  3. A Mountain Makins volunteer will be stationed at Gate 4 to check in musicians upon their arrival.
  4. Please provide a list of names of every member in your group with this contract to ensure you are admitted free. You are still invited to attend both days.
  5. Please indicate #mics needed:

  8. Please email a stage plot with this application to events@rosecenter.org
  9. A sound system will be provided with mics and a sound technician to run the board.
  10. CDs may be sold at the CD sales booth next to the main stage, with no commission charged.
  11. Payment:You will be paid immediately after your last performance.
  12. Please include your desired compensation for 2 (45 minute sets).
