Spring has sprung and the geeks are in full bloom! Where The Geek Things Are (WTGTA) Spring Market is where you'll find the geeks and the geek things! WTGTA, in coordination with our friends at Ironclad Marketplace, are hosting a geeked out pop-up market on Saturday March 30th just a few blocks away from downtown Kinston. This market will feature over 30 amazing geeky vendors along with plenty of geek related activities and prizes to be won throughout the day.
You'll be able to browse through a wide variety of items ranging from anime figures and merch, retro and modern gaming, vintage and current toys, Pokémon, Trading Cards, comics, Funko, artist creations, geeky bakey goodness, Food Trucks and more.
Visit our Welcome Center for a special treat for the kiddos and information on our scavenger hunt. Tickets are not required, it's free to join! Although tickets are not required, we would appreciate that you get your tickets on our eventeny page at https://www.eventeny.com/events/geeknoutmarket-8797/. This first 20 visitors to present their digital ticket will get a mystery bag filled with geeky merch!
Cosplay Competition
There will be a cosplay contest for adults and kids. There will be first, second and third placements with first prize being a cash prize! Visit the Welcome Center to get signed up. There may be limited spaces for participation based on demand.
Fighting Game Tournament
We'll have a small Fighting Game tournament for amateur players only. Only 30 competitors will be accepted. Sign up at the Vendor Booth. There will be first, second and third placements with first prize being a cash prize!
Board Game Station Vs. Videogame Station
Board Game Station or Videogame Station? Por que no los dos? Why not both! We will have free to play areas for videogames and board games for everyone to enjoy!
Silent Auction
A silent auction will be open to the public and vendors who have an item they want bids placed. Those items that get a large number of bids will then go to an exciting live auction curated by a locally licensed auctioneer! Spaces are limited, so please visit the Vendor Booth for more information.
Kuji Prize Drawings
If your feeling lucky, there will be a Kuji Prize Drawing curated by Where the Geek Things Are. Tickets will be sold at the Welcome Center.
This is an outdoor event and will be rain or shine. It is a FREE event for the public. Family-friendly, all ages, and pets are wanted! Plenty of free parking.
