About the event

Paint the City Pink is a month-long community awareness campaign held throughout October in Inkster to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative brings together residents, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and community partners to raise awareness about breast cancer, honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and support individuals and families currently impacted by the disease. Throughout the month, participants are encouraged to "paint the city pink" by decorating storefronts, wearing pink, hosting awareness activities, and participating in community events that promote education, early detection, and hope. The campaign concludes with a community celebration recognizing participants and the collective impact of the city's commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer.
