Do you love music, anime, storytelling, and editing?
An AMV is a fan-made music video usually featuring clips from your favorite anime enhanced by the right song. As an AMV creator, you're not just an editor, but a storyteller who blends sound and visuals, to connect with others, and create something spectular combining what we all love: anime and music.
We're taking submissions to showcase your powerful and visually striking edits through our AMV Jams event!
Terms & Conditions
Submission Deadline
All submissions must be received by June 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM CST. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
Attendee Badge Requirement
A Dream Con 2026 attendee badge is NOT required for submission. An approved submission is not a substitute for a badge, and will not gain you entry into the convention.
Eligibility
This showcase is open to Anime Music Video (AMV) creators and editors only.
Submissions must be original edits created by the participant.
Submission Link
Each applicant must include a link to their AMV video (e.g. Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo).
General Guidelines
Submissions must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or vulgar content. This includes inappropriate language, symbols, or imagery.
All AMVs must be original edits created by the participant. Unauthorized use of another editor’s work is strictly prohibited. No AI tools may be used in the creation of your submission.
The use of any artificial intelligence (AI) software is strictly prohibited.
AMV Submission Requirements
Time Limit: AMVs must not exceed 5 minutes 0 seconds in length. Only three entries allowed per participant per contest. All AMVs should be at least 75% Japanese animation or game footage.
AMVs with poor audio/video quality will be disqualified. This includes interlacing issues, audio distortions, etc.
No visible studio trademarks may be included in your video submission.
Image Rights and Usage
By submitting your AMV, you grant Dream Con the right to use, reproduce, and share your submission, along with your name and likeness if provided, for promotional and marketing purposes. This may include use across social media, official websites, and other promotional materials without additional compensation.
By participating, you acknowledge and agree that Dream Con is not required to seek further approval for the use of these materials and that you waive any right to review or approve the final content in which they appear.
Conduct and Professionalism
All participants are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism.
Respect toward staff, volunteers, and fellow creators is required at all times.
Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw your submission or can no longer participate, please email programming@dreamconvention.com as soon as possible with the subject line: “Dream Con 2026 AMV Submission Withdrawal”
Dream Con reserves the right to remove any submission or participant at any time due to rule violations, misconduct, or failure to comply with event guidelines.
Violations may result in removal from the showcase and potential restrictions from current and future Dream Con events.
