Get ready for one of the most adorable and entertaining events at the Canfield Fair—the Wiener Dog Race! As the fair celebrates its 180th year in 2026, these speedy little dachshunds will take center stage, racing for fun, bragging rights, and plenty of cheers from the crowd.
Founded in 1846, the Canfield Fair is one of the largest and oldest county fairs in the nation. As America celebrates its 250th Anniversary, the fair continues to honor the traditions that bring communities together—family fun, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments.
The Wiener Dog Race is a crowd favorite, where determined dachshunds dash down the track while spectators enjoy the excitement, laughter, and charm that only these little racers can bring.
Join us during six incredible days at the Canfield Fair and cheer on these pint-sized athletes as they race their hearts out in one of the fair’s most beloved events.
Fair Hours:
Gates open daily at 8:00 a.m.
Exhibit buildings open at 10:00 a.m.
Rides begin at 11:00 a.m.
