About the application
The Fiber Arts Competition is a great opportunity to inspire others and show off your talent. Everyone entering the competition receives recognition for their work and gains valuable feedback from the judges. Not to mention it is fun! Encourage friends and family to enter! All levels of expertise are welcome!
- Only ONE entry per category will be accepted. $3.00 per entry with a maximum of FOUR entries total for the competition.
- Each entry must be made entirely by the entrant. Handspun yarn used in any category must be spun by the entrant. If not, enter in the commercial yarn category.
- Work must have been completed since the last competition which was October 2025.
- Registered entries must be dropped off Thursday, October 22, 1 - 5pm or Friday, October 23, 9 -12pm – WNC Ag Center, Davis Arena. Your entry item may be submitted by mail but must be received by October 20, 2026. Mail To: Robin Brooks, 99 Upper Moffitt Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
- Judging will take place on Saturday morning. Entries must be left on display until pick up at 12pm Sunday, no exceptions.
- SAFF is not responsible for entries, but the room will be supervised during SAFF hours and locked after closing. SAFF is not responsible for loss or damage. Any items left after Sunday pickup will become the property of SAFF.
- If you want someone else to pick up your entry, please complete a release form when you drop off your entry.
- If you want your entry returned by mail, please include a self-address envelope/box with the correct postage.
- Entry fees are non-refundable.
- Ribbons & prize money will be awarded in each category for First, Second, Third place and Best of Show. Ribbons will be awarded for Honorable Mention & People's Choice.
The SAFF Fibert Arts Competition Committee welcomes your suggestions, recommendations and constructive criticisms. We strive to make this competition enjoyable and inspiring for all involved.
