Performer Application

The success of our festival relies largely on our outstanding stage performers. Each year, we seek out talented performers of all kinds to help make the UCBPride Festival one of Maryland's top events! This year, we're particualrly interested in:

1. Drag Kings and Queens
2. Acoustic Performers for our Rainbow Riser Second Stage
3. High-Energy Musical Acts

1. Application and Selection Terms

• No Guarantee of Selection: Submitting an application does not guarantee a performance spot.
• Originality/Rights: Artists often must guarantee they have the legal right to perform the music or content submitted.
   

2. Performance and Logistics

• Technical Rider/Requirements: Artists must submit a technical rider (sound/lighting needs). 
• Responsibilities: The festival provides sound equipment; artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments. 

3. Compensation and Payment

• Payment Schedule: Performers will be paid at the conculsion of their performance, either by check or electronically.
• Expenses: Artist are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and meals unless otherwise negotiated. 
   

4. Promotion 

• Media Rights: The festival typically reserves the right to use the artist's name, likeness, and provided photos for promotional purposes.
   

5. Behavior and Liability

• Code of Conduct: Performers must act professionally, comply with safety regulations, and adhere to family-friendly, drug-free, or smoking-restricted policies.
• Force Majeure: The Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride Foundation is unable to pay performers in the event that the festival is canceled due to unforeseen, uncontrollable events (e.g., severe weather).
• Indemnification: The artist agrees to hold the festival harmless from any claims, damages, or injuries arising from their performance. 
   

6. Cancellation Policies

• Notice Period: Artists agree that any cancellations must be made no less two weeks in advance of the festival to allow adequate time for substitutions.
