Parade Participant Rules
To ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, all participants must follow these rules which apply throughout the entire event, including the line‑up/staging area, the parade route, and all associated gathering spaces. By submitting a registration, you agree to follow and share these rules with your entire group.
- No smoking or alcohol on or near floats, vehicles, or walking units — including in the line‑up area.
- No weapons of any kind are permitted at the Manitou Days Grande Parade. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, knives, or any other items that could be perceived as weapons.
- No open flames on any unit. Decorations should be fire‑resistant. Safety rails are encouraged for floats or open truck beds.
- Only licensed drivers may operate motorized vehicles in the parade. All drivers must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain clear, unobstructed 180‑degree forward vision at all times.
- Do not set up or line up outside of the designated staging areas. These areas share space with residential traffic—please ensure all participants remain out of the roadway and respect local access.
- Do not leave your parade entry/vehicle unattended.
- No horns or sirens — they interfere with musical groups.
- No throwing items of any kind (candy, toys, water, etc.). All items must be handed out by walkers. Additional public‑health guidelines may be added if needed.
Parade officials and White Bear Lake Police may remove any entry that does not follow parade rules or official instructions.
