BWASH and the City of Sugar Hill proudly present our 7th Annual Juneteenth Celebration! Join us for a day of community and culture featuring the Miss Juneteenth pageant, music, family games, and a scholarship award. Don’t miss out on local vendors, food trucks, and your chance to win Atlanta Gridiron Classic Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators tickets! This is a FREE event and we look forward to welcoming you on Saturday, June 20th from 4pm-9pm Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of the remaining enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, TX. It is also called Emancipation Day or Juneteenth Independence Day. The name “Juneteenth” references the date by combining the words “June” and “nineteenth,” as the traditional date, which is now a federal holiday in the United States, recognized on June 19th.

About the application

We are excited to crown Miss Juneteenth Sugar Hill during our annual celebration! This empowering pageant invites ladies aged 18+ to showcase their style and demonstrate leadership through thought-provoking onstage questions. Contestants will compete for prize money, a crown, and the prestigious title based on their poise, style, and fundraising success.

Terms & Conditions

I hereby apply to participate in the Miss Juneteenth Sugar Hill Pageant organized by the Black Women's Association of Sugar Hill hereafter referenced as BWASH.  I agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth.  I understand that my participation is subject to the following conditions:

  1. I am at least 18 years of age.
  2. I am a resident of Sugar Hill, Buford or Suwanee.
  3. I understand that there is a $25 non-refundable registration fee that will be paid/charged only if my application is approved.
  4. I commit to selling a minimum of 20 raffle tickets ($25 each) for the Miss Juneteenth Sugar Hill Pageant. A portion of these raffle ticket proceeds will be used as prize money for the Miss Juneteenth Sugar Hill winner.
  5. I agree to participate in marketing activities leading up to the Miss Juneteenth Pageant that include the aforementioned raffle ticket sales and sharing flyers and other event-related information on my personal social media accounts.
