About the application
This application is to volunteer as a judge at Sangawa Project's Casual Costume Contest! This event will take place on Saturday, and will require about 3-4 hours for judging, deliberations, and winner announcement. This costume contest is casual, meaning it is open to any costume that was not purchased as a full set or entirely commissioned. Thrifted, closet, or handcrafted costumes are all welcome, as long as the entrant has made creative choices in putting it together. You will be judging based on the creativity of those choices to award Best Crafted for a cosplay with mostly handcrafted parts, and Most Creative to the best use of mostly found items. Additional awards, such as judges' awards will be based on the number of valid entrants we receive.
Terms & Conditions
Applicants must be at the Doubletree on Saturday, February 7th. The contest, deliberations, and winner announcements will take about 3-4 hours, the rest of the time at Sangawa (including Friday and Sunday) is yours to enjoy as you please. If you have already purchased a Sangawa Project badge, you will receive a refund if chosen to judge.
This is not a craftsmanship contest, but applicants must have crafted or modified cosplays before in order to fairly judge entrants.
This is a volunteer position that will come with all the benefits of Sangawa Project staff, including free entrance/badge. It is not a guest position, and as such the approved judges must provide their own transportation and rooming.
Chosen applicants will have the opportunity to present a panel of their choice, subject to programming approval. Precise time slots cannot be guaranteed.
Chosen applicants' images and preferred social media or websites will be promoted on the Sangawa Project page and social media.
