By submitting this application you are agreeing to the following rules and expectations.
Your group will provide your own scarecrow and decorations.The city will provide you with a 5 ft tall T-Post on the Downtown Rowlett Green and a 5 ft radius surrounding it. Your display must remain within the 5ft radius around your assigned T-Post.
The T-Posts are spaced exactly 12ft a part and are not allowed to be moved! Spaces will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
Each display should be accompanied with a sign no larger than an 18x24 yard sign, with the name of either the group or individual who created it. Private businesses that have a company logo anywhere on their display, and applied for the General Public/Organizations/City Departments & Boards application, will be offered a one time opportunity to pay the $25 business fee or remove the display. For private business displays that are left after this notice and remain unpaid for, then the City reserves the right to remove and dispose of the scarecrow and decorations.
The City reserves the right to remove any signs or decorations it deems inappropriate.
Scarecrows and decorations must be family-friendly and maintained on a routine basis. If a scarecrow falls into disrepair due to acts of God, vandalism, or abandonment, the City reserves the right to remove and dispose of the scarecrow and decorations.
None of your display can penetrate the grass on the Downtown Rowlett Green.
The city is not responsible for missing items or damage to scarecrows.
Your group agrees to follow the following set up and breakdown timeline:
Set up / Decoration Period (10/13 - 10/24)
Public Judging Period (10/25 - 11/09)
Required Breakdown Period (11/10-11/16)
The City reserves the right to remove and dispose of scarecrows and decorations that aren't removed during the required breakdown period.
