Honey Show judges may be: blue-ribbon winners of local, state and/or regional honey shows, or professionals judging in their fields. Judges must completely fill out a score card for each entry. If an entry is disqualified, the reason for disqualification must be stated on the score card. Judges should make comments on score cards in order to help the exhibitor improve. The score cards and entries are the property of the exhibitor. Judges must break all ties.
GENERAL SHOW RULES
1. Entries shall be registered at the Palmer Brothers Bee Farm Honey Show Booth. Entries may be dropped off from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, September 13th 2025.
2. Entries can only be made during the hours published.
3. Entries must be left intact and on display until released by the Show Superintendent.
4. Entries not claimed by the end of the Festival at 6:00pm on Saturday will be disposed of by the Show Superintendent.
5. All and any Exhibitors are encouraged to participate
6. Only one entry may be exhibited by an individual, that individual’s family, or that individual’s apiary.
7. One Jar with appropriate identifying labeling will be submitted as well as one jar unidentifiable for a total of two jars per entry.
8. At the time of entering, the stewards will place small labels on the unidentifiable jar, with the exhibitor’s number, inconspicuously on the entry. The purpose of these small, numbered labels is to keep track of entries in a registration book in the case of ownership disputes. One label containing the entrant number shall be affixed to the Entry Form, one label shall be affixed to the Judging Sheet, and one label shall be given to the exhibitor, in order to reclaim their entry after the Honey Show
9. Identifying labels on the jar to be judged are forbidden.
10. The decision of the judges in all cases will be final.
11. Entries WILL NOT be accepted by mail or commercial carriers but may be hand delivered, on behalf of a qualified entrant, by another person attending the Festival
12. The Show Superintendent has the authority to accept, reject and classify entries in accordance with the show policies, rules and judging criteria.
13. Any exhibitor wishing to protest must do so to the Show Superintendent within by the end of the day of the show.
14. Cynthiana Honey Festival assumes no liability for loss or damage of entries. Although Cynthiana Honey Festival will exercise all due care in judging and displaying entries exhibitors enter items at their own risk.
In addition : Your liquid honey must be presented in two (one of which will be labeled and one without any labeling) 16oz (1 pound) glass jar, of either Queenline or Classic Honey Jar. All entries must be submitted between 9AM and 11AM on September 13, 2025 at the Palmer Brothers Bee Farm Honey Show Booth. Submit your entry by filling out an accompanying application, an unlabeled jar of honey, and one properly labeled jar. Failure to present a properly labeled jar may be grounds for disqualification. All honey will be judged in one category and there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes awarded accordingly.
