Use this form to apply for a scholarship before the February 27th deadline.
The Maine Fishermen’s Forum Board of Directors offers a scholarship fund to benefit Maine students who are children or grandchildren or a legal dependent of someone actively involved in harvesting wild caught or farmed Maine seafood, or a Maine-based resource law enforcement officer regardless of financial need or academic achievement.
Please note that previous winners are not eligible.
Terms & Conditions
The following criteria must be met for your application to be considered:
Undergraduates attending a two or four year college who are in at least the second year of their program or students who are in at least the second semester of their Certificate Program will be eligible. High school students are not eligible.
Student applicants must maintain Maine as their state of legal residency.
You must be a child, grandchild or legal dependent of someone participating in Maine’s seafood industry.
Definition of Maine's seafood industy:
· Fishing vessel owner, operator, crew
· Aquaculture farmer, employee
· Maine Marine Patrol
· Coast Guard (Maine based)
You must obtain an official transcript or Registrar’s letter of standing from your school that indicates you are enrolled in academic year 2025-2026, and upload it to this platform along with your application.
The closing date for scholarship applications for the 2026 Forum is February 27, 2026.
The scholarship drawing will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Winners will be announced at the banquet, on the Forum website, and on the Forum Facebook page.
