Petting Zoo Terms & Conditions
Klickitat County Harvest Festival – October 18, 2025
Location: 205 S.Columbus Ave. Goldendale, WA 98620
Time: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Set-up: 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM)
By participating in the Petting Zoo, all 4-H members, volunteers, and animal handlers agree to the following:
1. Animal Health & Safety
All animals must be healthy, clean, and properly groomed prior to arrival.
Animals must be current on all vaccinations and free of illness or visible injury.
Animals showing signs of illness or distress may be removed from the event by the organizers.
2. Supervision & Care
All animals must be attended at all times by a responsible 4-H member or adult supervisor.
Handlers must ensure animals are well cared for throughout the day, with access to water, shade, and rest as needed.
No animals may be left overnight or unattended at any time.
3. Behavior & Safety
Animals must be gentle, well-socialized, and appropriate for public interaction.
Handlers are responsible for ensuring that interactions with the public are safe, supervised, and respectful to the animals.
If an animal becomes stressed, aggressive, or unmanageable, it must be removed from the petting area immediately.
4. Cleanliness & Sanitation
Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their animals during and after the event.
Waste must be disposed of properly in designated areas provided by the festival.
Hand sanitizer or handwashing stations must be available near the animal area.
5. Set-Up & Participation
All participants must be set up and ready no later than 10:30 AM on event day.
Participants are expected to remain for the full duration of the event unless prior arrangements are made.
All signage, fencing, pens, and displays must be safe, sturdy, and family-friendly.
6. General Conduct
Participants must behave respectfully toward event staff, other exhibitors, animals, and attendees.
Loud noises, running, or disruptive behavior around the animals is not permitted.
Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are prohibited in or around the petting zoo area.
7. Liability
The Klickitat County Harvest Festival, its organizers, and volunteers are not responsible for injury, illness, or damage related to animals, participants, or equipment.
Participants assume all responsibility and liability for their animals and actions during the event.
✅ Things You May Want to Bring:
Pop-up tent for shade
Tables & chairs for your group
Banners or signs to represent your 4-H club or animals
Plenty of drinking water (for you and the animals!)
Feed, bedding, and clean-up supplies
Enclosures & Supervision
Fencing and animal enclosures must be provided by you.
If you need help sourcing pens or fencing, please contact us in advance—we may have extra.
An adult or responsible 4-H member must remain with animals at all times.
The festival is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or unattended animals or items.
