Event Deadlines
The Participant acknowledges the following deadlines for the event:
All contestants must complete their registration by Sunday, May 11, 2025 11:59 PM CST. Late registrations will not be accepted.
The Participant must attend the mandatory meeting, on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 4:00 PM CST leading up to the event. Any conflicts must be communicated to the organizers in advance. An email reminder will be provided for participants. Failure to present to this meeting without notifying Cosplay Department Staff may be considered a ‘no show’ and result in your dismissal from the Show. This meeting will cover the expectations of the Cosplay Runway Show.
The Participant must remain present until the end of the event.
Image Rights and Usage
By agreeing to these terms, you grant the Organizer the right to photograph, videotape, or otherwise record the Participant’s image and likeness during the event.
The Participant agrees that the Organizer may use these recordings for promotional purposes, including but not limited to marketing materials, social media, and the Organizer’s website, without further compensation or approval.
All Participants waive any right to inspect or approve the final products wherein their likeness appears.
Conduct and Professionalism
Participants are expected to always conduct themselves in a professional manner during the event.
All participants will adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Organizer.
The Participant agrees not to engage in any behavior that could damage the reputation of the event or the Organizer.
Costume and Props
All costumes must be family-friendly and adhere to the Dream Con code of conduct.
Clothing should provide adequate coverage and not be overly revealing. Ensure that all private areas are appropriately covered. All cosplays must provide as much coverage as a standard bikini/swimsuit. Nudity is not allowed. No participants are allowed to be topless on stage.
Your cosplay can be from any fandom including but not limited to anime, video games, comics, and cartoons. Original Characters (OCs) are allowed.
All male cosplayers are REQUIRED to wear a dance belt.
No offensive or vulgar cosplays (i.e. Hitler cosplays, Black Face, etc.) are allowed in the Cosplay Contest.
No real weapons are allowed such as bats, metal chains, guns, airsoft guns, water guns and anything made out of metal. No weapon can be functional. All functional weapons will be banned from convention. All real weaponry is banned from the convention center. Individuals caught with real weapons will be dismissed from the convention center immediately.
Safety
Your cosplay design must not pose a safety risk to yourself or others.
You agree to refrain from performing in activities that may endanger yourself or others during the performance.
Confetti, glitter, smoke bombs, fire, or any other explosive or flammable materials are strictly prohibited from the runway and the performance area.
Weapons are strictly prohibited and not allowed under any circumstances. This includes, but is not limited to, bats, metal chains, guns, airsoft guns, water guns, and any prop made of metal.
Cancellation and Termination
If you wish to rescind your registration or can no longer participate in the Runway Show for any reason, please email cosplay@dreamconvention.com with “Runway Show Cancellation” in the Header and Body of the email as soon as possible. The email should include the first name, last name, and email address used on the registration form.
We reserve the right to terminate this agreement and remove the participant from the event at any time for any reason, including but not limited to breach of contract, unprofessional conduct, or failure to comply with event rules.
Failure to comply with the Show rules will result in disqualification and may lead to a ban from the current event as well as future Dream Con Shows and Cosplay Contests.
Liability and Indemnity
By participating in this event, you agree that the Organizer will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during your participation in the event.
The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to the Participant’s involvement in the event.
Compensation
Participants will not receive monetary or any other form of compensation for participating in the contest.
Miscellaneous
This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral.
