Youth Artists - Storytelling with Art
About the event
About the application
Colors of Pride: Storytelling with Art is an exciting program by Hampton Roads Pride designed to empower LGBTQ+ and allied youth artists. Participants will receive personalized mentorship and consultation from professional adult artists, providing invaluable guidance and support for their creative journeys. The program also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes tours and workshops with local art institutions offering unique insights into the art world, along with a workshop on storytelling with art from local non-profit partners. The culmination of this enriching experience will be an exhibition of the participants' artwork at Pridefest on June 21st, 2025, celebrating their talents and stories.
Applicants should be visual artists between ages 13-18 who live or attend school in the Hampton Roads area. Tours, workshops, and exhibition will be local so applicants should be able to attend these in person, schedule permitting.
