Terms & Conditions

Game and Geek Expo - Panelist Host, Activity & Workshop Terms and Conditions

 

1. Agreement:

By accepting an invitation to participate as a panelist or workshop at the Gaming and Geek Expo ("Convention"), you ("Panelist") agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.

 

2. Panelist Responsibilities:

Content: Panelists are responsible for the content of their presentations and discussions. Content must be appropriate for a diverse audience and comply with all applicable laws. Hate speech, offensive language, and illegal content are strictly prohibited.
Preparation: Panelists are expected to prepare thoroughly for their panels, including researching topics, developing presentations, and coordinating with co-panelists.


Attendance: Panelists must arrive on time for their scheduled panels and remain for the duration of the session. In case of unavoidable absence, the Panelist must notify the Convention organizers as soon as possible.


Conduct: Panelists must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards other panelists, attendees, and Convention staff.


Promotion: Panelists may promote their participation in the Convention, but must not misrepresent the Convention or its organizers.


Technical Requirements: Panelists must inform the Convention organizers of any technical requirements for their panel in advance. The Convention will make reasonable efforts to accommodate these requirements, but cannot guarantee availability.


3. Convention Rights:

Scheduling: The Convention organizers reserve the right to schedule, reschedule, or cancel panels at their discretion.


Recording: The Convention organizers may record panels for archival, promotional, or distribution purposes. Panelists grant the Convention a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use these recordings.


Content Moderation: The Convention organizers reserve the right to moderate panel discussions and remove panelists who violate these Terms and Conditions.
Cancellation: The Convention organizers reserve the right to cancel a Panelist's participation due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to, health concerns, emergencies, or breach of these terms.


4. Intellectual Property:

Panelists retain ownership of their intellectual property. However, they grant the Convention a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use their name, likeness, and panel content for promotional purposes related to the Convention.


Panelists must ensure that their presentations do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.


5. Liability:

Panelists participate in the Convention at their own risk. The Convention organizers are not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or other losses incurred by Panelists.

Panelists are responsible for any claims arising from their panel content or conduct.


6. Compensation:

Panelists will receive a weekend badge to the event and access to the after dark party.(Other accommodations may be available depending on the panelists)


7. Termination:

The Convention organizers may terminate a Panelist's participation for any breach of these Terms and Conditions.
 
 8. Governing Law:

  These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of North Carolina.

 


9. Amendments:

The Convention organizers reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Panelists will be notified of any changes.


10. Acceptance:

 

By accepting an invitation to participate as a panelist, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
