About the event

Join us for an afternoon celebrating women in gaming featuring Heather Chandler, owner of Whole Brain Escape in Apex. Heather is a video game producer who has lead teams at Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Activision. She was also the Senior Producer on Fortnite. She will be joined by other game designers, artists, programmers to hear your game pitch. Janie Hughes (Co-Founder of BingoBard, Women in Games Ambassador & Chair of IGDA NC Triangle), Amber Murray Johnson (Professor at Wake Tech), Jayden Sansom (NCSU Grad and Future Tools Programmer), and Meg Hughes (Video Game Producer). Middle schoolers will pitch game concepts and High schoolers will submit a developed game to showcase to receive feedback and compete for cool prizes. (More info in Vendor Applications) Meet and greet with the panelists and all game submissions then the pitch contest. Prizes: BEATS headphone, steam GC, funkopops, Whole Brain GC Snack and refreshments provided.

Have you been working on an awesome video game? Bring your creation to the GameMaker Showcase and share it with fellow gamers, developers, and industry pros!

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Showcase your game demo to players and experts.Must bring your own display mechanism.
  • Receive valuable feedback to level up your project.
  • Connect with other game creators and industry mentors.
  • Compete to win cool prizes

Who Can Enter?
High school students with a playable game demo—whether it's a solo project or a team effort!
