2021 N.C.Pickle Festival Cuke Patch 5K In Person & Virtual

Each year in April, Mount Olive the community and Mt. Olive the company come together to celebrate a dill-lightful relationship. The award-winning North Carolina Pickle Festival is a fun, family-friendly event that kicks off on Friday night and runs all day Saturday in downtown Mount Olive. For 2021 we will hold a mix of live and virtual events, but not the street festival experience of previous years. We will hold pickle eating and recipe contests virtually, the Cuke Patch 5K, both virtual and in person, and a drive in movie. Other events include a virtual and in person history walk and a local pickle treasure hunt.

IN-PERSON EVENT

The 5K will be staged near the intersection of John and Center Streets in the vicinity of Ribeyes Steakhouse, 112 N. Center Street, Mount Olive, NC. Follow the signs to enter the downtown area via John Street. Four different heats will be held - 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11 am. Check in starts 30 minutes prior to each heat. Each heat will be limited to 30 runners or fewer to provide social distancing.  Prizes for best individual costume and best team costumes will be awarded for each heat, so dress in your best pickle themed-costume or 1870s garb to honor the Town of Mount Olive's 150th anniversary in 2020! The race route winds through Mount Olive downtown neighborhoods.

 

VIRTUAL EVENT

Virtual participants are invited to run their 5K anytime beginning Sunday, April 18 through Saturday, April 24, and to post their run photos and tag them at #NCPFCukePatch. One virtual best costume prize will be awarded, based on photos posted. So pull out your pickle-themed costume or help us commemorate the Town of Mount Olive's 150th anniversary in 2020 by wearing your best 1870s look!

 

FEES - IN  PERSON

Individual: $20 if registered before the April 12 Early Bird Deadline; $25 after April 12

Group: $15 group rate if registered before April 12 (4 or more); $20 Group rate after April 12 (4 or more) Participants will receive a Cuke Patch 5K t-shirt at check in.

 

FEES - VIRTUAL

Individual:$20 if registered before the April12 Early Bird Deadline, $25 after April 12. The NCPF will mail Cuke Patch 5K t-shirts to early bird registrants via USPS prior to April 24.

 

PROCEEDS & SPONSORS

A  portion of proceeds will benefit the Mount Olive Parks and Recreation Department. The Cuke Patch 5K is presented by the N.C. Pickle Festival with the support of the Town of Mount Olive and Sleep Inn and Suites of Mount Olive.

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Runners under the age of 12 must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.

 

RELEASE OF ORGANIZERS AND SPONSORS of the Cuke Patch 5K (the Event.) In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, assigns and/or legal representatives, do hereby waive, release and discharge the North Carolina Pickle Festival, Inc., the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce, the Town of Mount Olive, NC, the Event sponsors and all Event personnel from any and all claims for damage suffered by me as a result of my participation in or travel to or return from the Event. In addition I certify that I am in proper physical condition to participate in the Event and accept full responsibility for my own safety during the Event.
