Sonic TX 66 Hot Dog Eating Contest

 This exciting competition takes place at the Texas 66 Festival Finale presented by Amarillo National Bank, on June 15th, 2024, at 1:00 PM on the main stage of the Texas 66 Festival Finale. 

Eligibility

• The eating contest is open to individuals aged 18 and over.
• Contestants must be in good health and free from any conditions that may be aggravated by excessive eating or any related activity.

Registration

• All participants must register in advance to enter the contest. Registration can be completed online through the official TX Route 66 Festival Finale website.
• Participants are required to provide valid identification and emergency contact details at the time of registration.

Rules of the Contest

• Contestants will be given a designated amount of food to consume within a specified time limit.
• The timer will start when the signal is given, and contestants will have 8 minutes to eat as much as possible.
• Only the food provided by event organizers can be consumed during the contest.
• Any participant seen using unauthorized items or methods to assist in eating will be disqualified.

Disqualifications

• Contestants who engage in any form of cheating, including but not limited to spitting out food, hiding food, or accepting outside assistance, will be immediately disqualified.
• Contestants who display signs of distress, including but not limited to vomiting, dizziness, or loss of consciousness, will be removed from the contest for safety reasons.

Health and Safety

• All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before entering the contest, acknowledging the risks associated with competitive eating.
• A medical professional or event staff will be on-site during the contest for emergencies. If a participant shows signs of distress, they will be removed from the contest and evaluated by the medical team.

Prizes

• The winner of the contest will be awarded a prize determined by the event organizers. Prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded.
• In the case of a tie, a tie-breaking round will be conducted.

Behavior and Conduct

• Participants are expected to display respectful behavior toward fellow contestants, event staff, and spectators.
• Disruptive or unsportsmanlike conduct, including verbal or physical altercations, may result in disqualification from the contest.

Publicity and Media

• By participating, contestants agree to allow event organizers to use their name, likeness, and contest results in promotional materials, media, and other related publications.

Right to Cancel or Modify

• Event organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to safety concerns, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

Agreement

• By participating in the eating contest, contestants acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. Failure to comply with any of these terms may result in disqualification from the contest.
