Holiday Sidewalk Chalk Contest - Call for Artists

“Hey guys! ChristmasVille here. Santa and his Gnomes have been working extra hard this year to make sure that ChristmasVille is not canceled. Yes... ChristmasVille is NOT canceled! ChristmasVille will actually be Nov. 27 – Dec. 25. This allows our guests to enjoy the festival in a safe environment. We are not able to encourage large groups of people at one time, so we are spreading the cheer throughout the month of December. Old Town Rock Hill will come alive as a charming, picturesque holiday village with larger than life decorations and mesmerizing light displays. Instead of fighting for parking and waiting in long lines, our guests will be able to stroll the dreamy streets and alleyways, listen to street entertainment, shop and eat on their own schedule. We will have ticketed Christmas events throughout the month, guest appearances and contests galore. To continue the traditions of ChristmasVille we are not able to have in person, we have added new digital experiences including our new app, awesome online contests for everyone, 3D tours and unique shopping trips. Not to mention, live chats with Santa himself and story time with all our characters. Help us spread ChristmasVille cheer on this 15th year!“

We are seeking 10+/- skilled artists to create a 5ftx5ft holiday-themed chalk art square in Old Town Rock Hill. This event will take place on December 12th and 13th. 

 

If selected, each artist will be assigned a square at one of the preselected locations in Old Town Rock Hill. The artist will have a choice to create the piece either on December 12th or 13th beginning at 11am each day. 

 

 

HOW TO ENTER: 

 

First: Fill out the application below by December 4th and submit up to three (3) examples of previous art projects. 

 

Then: All applicants will be notified if they were selected or not to participate in the contest by December 4th. 

 

If Selected: Applicants will be notified and contacted with more details. Also, each artist will receive a $25 downtown gift card for being selected. Artists will be required to provide their own materials. 

 

Judging and Prizes:

Entries will be judged on various criteria and awarded the following prizes. 

• • 1st Place - $75 gift card to a downtown business
  • 2nd Place - $50 gift card to a downtown business
  • 3rd Place - $25 gift card to a downtown business
