Papaya Contestant

Are you a master of flavor? Do you dare to challenge yourself and prove that you're the best papaya salad maker? Think your papaya salad beats the rest? Then step up to the plate and compete in our South East Asian Festival Papaya Salad competition showdown. From sweet, savory to sour to spicy, our papaya salad competition celebrates the art of papaya salad. Whether you're a veteran chef, a home cook, or an amateur with a secret recipe, this is your chance to prove that you're the sauce boss.

COMPETITION RULES

1. The entry fee will be $20.00 per papaya salad entered. Contestants may only enter one papaya salad and may enter as an individual or team. ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST BE LISTED ON THE APPLICATION. Clever team names and papaya salad names are encouraged. 

2. All cooking is to be done in a sanitary manner. Suspicion of failure to comply will lead to disqualification for papaya salad entry.

3. Must list all food allergens.
4. Must list all ingredients.

5. Each individual or team is responsible for making no less than one 32 oz container of papaya salad. 

6. Each papaya salad entered will be assigned a number by the competition coordinator and each contestant is responsible for turning in his or her papaya salad with that number at the start of the competition.

7. Judges will vote for the papaya salad they like best based on the following major considerations: (a) Presentation. The papaya salad should look appetizing; (b) Aroma: The papaya salad should smell good (this also indicates what is in store when tasted); (c) Consistency: The papaya salad must have a good ratio between sauce and ingredients (d) Taste: Taste, above all else is the most important factor (the taste should consist of the combination of sweet, tangy, and spicy, etc.). 

8. The winner of the papaya salad competition will be determined by the judging committee. The decision of the judging committee is final.

9. First Prize: $200.00 and First Prize Certificate and public announcement at the event, other public accolades, and social media bragging rights. 

10. All contestants must be present on stage during the taste test from the judges. 

11. The competition is open to everyone (entering as an individual or team), restaurants, companies or organizations of any kind, excluding Myriad Events LLC members. Professional chefs and restaurants as well as amateurs are allowed and encouraged to compete. Myriad Events LLC reserves the right to refuse participation in the competition to any individual and/or team at the discretion of the event committee chairperson.  All teams or individuals must provide a valid email address and phone number when registering for the competition. Communication to the registered email address and/or phone number shall constitute notice delivered regarding competition matters. 

12. All competitors and team members must have a ticket for the day of their event.

I, the undersigned participant in this papaya salad competition by Myriad Events LLC. I agree to abide by all contest rules, to compete in a safe and reasonable manner, and to accept all judges’ rulings. I understand the health and associated risks inherent in food service safety.

I agree to abide by Georgia Food Service Rules and Regulations as determined by https://dph.georgia.gov/document/document/food-service-rules-and-regulations-511-6-1/download. I agree to cooperate and speak with media and interviewers authorized by the contest organizers regarding the contest and I agree to grant and release all rights on my name, likeness, image, performance and interviews before, during or after the contest for use by the contest organizers, their sponsors and licensees, in any and all media in perpetuity and for any and all purposes whatsoever. I also hereby waive, on behalf of myself, successors, heirs and assigns and anyone else claiming under me or on my behalf, all ownership or other property rights to my performance in the contest and all related activities in perpetuity in all media whatsoever. I expressly understand that entry and participation in the contest and all related events and activities, including, without limitation, travel to the contest and time spent in and around the area of the contest, interviews with and possibly negative portrayals by the media, and my performance in the contest, shall be at my own risk and I assume sole and complete responsibility and liability for all such risks. I, on behalf of myself, my successors, heirs and assigns and anyone else claiming under me, hereby completely, irrevocably and unconditionally release and discharge all sponsors and Myriad Events LLC from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, suits, discrimination or other charges, demands, debts, liens, damages, costs, attorneys’ fees, prejudgment or other interest, grievances, injuries, actions or rights of action of any nature whatsoever now or in the future arising in any way out of or in connection with the contest.

I fully acknowledge and understand that I do not have any right to participate in this contest and related activities and I am being permitted to participate in consideration of my execution of this document. If it were not for my agreement to execute this document, I acknowledge that I would not be permitted to participate. I further acknowledge and agree that I understand all of the terms and conditions of this document and that I have been afforded an opportunity to have this document reviewed by counsel of my own choosing. I also understand that I will be given a signed copy of this document if I so request.
