Political Speaker Request

Political Speakers Requesting to speak at the Berks Pride fest agree to the following: 

1) Candidates of any party may request an opportunity to speak at Pride events. 

2) Candidates are not publicly invited but must make a request to speak 

3) The office of the candidate that is being sought must have a direct impact on the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. 

4) The candidate must limit the speech to items directly related to how they will positively support/impact the LGBTQ+ community.

5) Pride reserves the right to limit the number candidates that speak at an event due to availability but not based on political party.

6) Speakers will be given between 3-5 minutes at max to address attendees. Timing depends on the number of request and show schedule. 

8) Pride reserves the right to approve and reject speakers.

1. Speakers confirmed, must arrive on time and be ready to speak at their scheduled time to avoid any delays. Speakers arriving late, may not be given another opportunity.
2. Speakers must notify Reading Pride at least 72 hours in advance if there is a change in plan and they can not show. (This does not include emergencies) 
3. All speaking agreements will be bound by RPC's morality clause. Reading Pride reserves the right to cancel a speaking opportunity for violations of this clause. 

Morality Clause
Speaker shall act at all times with due regard to public morals, conventions . If Speaker
shall have committed or does commit any act, or if Speaker shall have conducted or
does conduct himself/herself in a manner, which shall be an offense involving moral turpitude under federal, state or local laws, or which might tend to bring Artist to
public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule, or which may embarrass, offend, insult or denigrate individuals or groups, or that may shock, insult or offend the
community or public morals or decency or prejudice Reading Pride Celebration
(RPC), or which results in or is likely to result in actual or threatened claims against RPC, or which otherwise may might tend to reflect unfavorably upon RPC, RPC shall
have the right to terminate this Agreement upon notice to Speaker given at any time following the date on which the commission of such act, or such conduct, shall have
become known to Reading Pride Celebration.
