Voted Best Festival in the southeast multiple times by the Southeast Festivals & Events Association. A coastal favorite, the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival combines the classic southern dish with family-friendly entertainment, an artist market, live music, food, and the new addition of a Car Show.
If you're interested in participating in the Car Show, here's what you need to know
- Participation is open to all years, makes, and models.
- There is a $25 registration fee, and there won't be any “day of” or “onsite” registration.
- The deadline for applications is September 26th, to allow time to mail Car Show Packets
- There will be a rolling application acceptance process in which applications will be reviewed every 4 weeks. The final review will take place on Friday, September 27th.
- Applicants must submit one (1) image of their vehicle.
- Accepted vehicles will receive a Car Show Packet mailed in October containing but not limited to:
- Car Show hangtag that provides free island entry ($15 value) and onsite festival parking ($50 value)
- Vehicle roll-in information
- Directions and map
- Only 28 spaces are available, and a trailer drop zone is provided.
- Vehicle roll-in will take place on Saturday, October 26th, from 8:00am-10:00am. If you arrive after 10:00am, you will be disqualified from participating and using your festival hangtag.
- IMPORTANT Hangtag Information: Car Show participants must have their hangtag to enter the festival grounds and continue to the Morgan Center parking lot. Hangtags are not valid to park on any other festival lot. After 8:00am on Saturday, vehicles may not enter the Jekyll Island Historic District without a Festival Hangtag. No hangtag no participation NO EXEPTIONS
- Once the vehicle is in the festival you may not leave until the Car Show is over at 4:30pm due to safety for festival attendees. Exceptions can be made for emergencies only.
- Judging will take place from 12:30pm-1:30pm (awards given out at 4pm on the main stage)
- Vehicle roll-out begins at 4:30pm or you can stay and enjoy the festival and roll out at the end of the night.
