The Taste of Asparagus Competition is an opportunity for asparagus lovers to share their favorite asparagus dishes. All Commercial and Non-Commercial entrants will compete for 1st place. The dish receiving the most votes from a panel of 3 judges will be declared the overall winner of the Commercial and Non-Commercia divisions. The public will also vote for their favorite asparagus dish and the winner will receive the coveted PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD! The Asparagus Queen will also be selecting the “Queen’s Choice” for her overall favorite dish!

All dishes must be prepared with ASPARAGUS! The Michigan Asparagus Advisory Board has generously offered to donate asparagus for your dish. Please indicate the quantity needed in the questionnaire below.
Event will be held at the Hart Historic District at 100 Union Street, Hart, MI in the Heritage Hall Building.
Terms & Conditions
Participant’s responsibility:
- Provide favorite asparagus dish
- Prepare servings for 250-300 (sample sizes); if servings are an issue please contact coordinator immediately as we areexpecting 300 attendees for this event!
- Must be self-contained NO COOKING ON SITE
- Set-up may start at 9am
- Ready to serve by 11am
- Provide a copy of your recipe application (can be emailed)
- Provide all serving (spoon, spatula etc)utensils required.
- Removal of all trash to proper containers at clean-up time and dismantling of display
- Any extension cords necessary
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE
Taste of Asparagus Coordinator will provide:
- Table space & chairs
- Sign with the chef’s name, name of the dish& sponsor (if applicable)
- Paper serving products (plates, bowls, napkins, and utensils for guests)
- Placement by an electrical outlet, if requested
- Provide voting tickets to public
- Clean-up of tables and room
