About the event

Reading Pride Celebration & The Reading Public Library need your help designing our first ever Pride Library Card. The contest is open to artists of all ages with a design that celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride. Submissions are due by April 30th, 2024. Rules: 1. One entry per person 2. art work must fit within the card measurements, including a key chain card design. (See photo Graphic for card size requirements) 3. make it colorful, be creative and have fun! 4. All art or graphics used, must be created by or owned by artist. The winning design will be announced on June 1st, 2024, at the Pride month kickoff event. The winner will receive a $100 gift card and have their design printed on the Pride library card. The kickoff event will take place at the Main branch of the Reading Public library. Details will be published as they become available. Artists are encouraged to attend as the winner will be announced at the event, and the winning artist will be given the opportunity to speak about their design. The General Public will have the opportunity to exchange their existing card for the Pride Card. Newly enrolled library card holders can also request the Pride card during the month of June 2024. All artists should submit their information and completed designs using the other applications tab on this event page.

About the application

Help make history with Reading Pride Celebration and the Reading Public Library and be a part of our first ever Pride library contest celebrating Pride month.

Artists are encouraged to submit a digitatl print ready design by April 30th 2024. 

 

Rules:

  1. One entry per person
  2. artwork must fit in design template. 4.875" x 2.25" with a 0.125" bleed area. See graphic on event page for size details. 
  3. design must include a keychain card version.
  4. Make it colorful, be creative and have fun. 
  5. All designs & graphics should be created by or owned by the artists. 

 

A committee of judges from RPC, the library, and the Googleworks will review all submissions and selct a winner. The winner will be announced at the kick off event on June 1st, 2024 at the Reading Public Library.

Terms & Conditions

All designs should celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride. Designs that include hate speech, derogatory, or offesive language or images will immediately be rejected. All designs must be orginal to the artist submitting the work. 

 

To avoid changes to your submitted work that would cover a portion of it, please include the Reading Pride logo and Reading Public Library logo. 

 

By Submitting an application, you give Reading Pride Celebration (RPC) & the Reading Public Library permission to reproduce creative works resulting from your participation in the Pride 2024 library card contest. You understand that you may not use your submitted creative works for commercial purposes without written approval from RPC. RPC & The Reading Public library reserve the right to modify submitted creative works.
