Come and Bake It Contestant Form

The inaugural Come & Bake It Pecan Bake Show and Sale will be held on Friday, November 17th in tax
office lobby at the Randel Rather Building located at 427 St George Street, Gonzales Texas.

There will be two divisions, Youth Division and Adult Division in the baked foods portion of the show.
Youth and adults may enter food products prepared with at least 1 cup of pecans and at least one
ADAMS extract or spice. Winners will be announced in the youth division and in the adult division. Entry
rules apply for all youth and adult entries.
Food for the contest may be brought to the county building between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Judging will
begin at 9:00 am and finish by 11:30 am. Photos and awards will be presented at 12:30 pm.
All food items will be available for sales and may be picked-up after judging is completed.
Grand champion and reserve champion entries in each class will be recognized with ribbons, prizes and
cash awards. Prizes will also be given to the 1st and 2nd winner in each category.
Basic Rules Include:
1) All entries must be made by exhibitors.
2) Any Gonzales County resident (youth or adult) may enter only one dish in each class. The entry
classes are:
• CAKES • YEAST BREADS
• PIES • QUICK BREADS
• CANDY (min. 24 pieces) • MISCELLANEOUS (snacks, appetizers, etc.)
• COOKIES (min. 2 dozen) (min. 12 sample size portions plus equal
 amount to sell)
3) All entries must contain at least 1 cup of pecans and 1 ADAMS FLAVOR (extract or spice). Recipe
must list the specific ADAMS flavor.
4) All entries should be wrapped in transparent plastic and placed on disposable plates or
containers. Cakes and pies should remain whole.
5) An entry must consist of a complete recipe. Name, address and phone number should be on the
recipe submitted with entry form. Each item entered must have a recipe on its own page, one
recipe per page.
6) All recipes must be submitted no later than November 3, 2023.
7) An entry form is available at the County Extension Office, Gonzales City Hall, or
gonzalesmainstreet.org.
8) 70% of sale proceeds from each food item will go to the exhibitor. The remaining 30% of sale
proceeds will go to the Gonzales Main Street 501(c)3.
9) Dishes requiring refrigeration will not be accepted. (NO CREAM CHEESE ICING)
