About the event

BWASH & The City of Sugar Hill is excited to host our 4th annual Juneteenth celebration. Featuring live entertainment, music, family games, vendors, a kids zone, food trucks, and $1K scholarship award. This is a FREE event, and we look forward to welcoming you on June 17th from 4pm-9pm Juneteenth is a holiday commemorating the emancipation of the remaining enslaved African-Americans in Galveston, TX. It is also called Emancipation Day or Juneteenth Independence Day. The name “Juneteenth” references the date of the holiday, combining the words “June” and “nineteenth,” as the traditional holiday, which is now a federal holiday in the United States, recognized on June 19th.

Sign up for the Wing Cookoff at Sugar Hill's 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration hosted by the Black Women's Association of Sugar Hill

$5 Registration fee 

Provide a minimum of 10 cooked wings*

A panel of 5 judges 

Judging starts at 5:00 PM.

Prizes for 1st and 2nd place will be awarded immediately after judging/tasting is complete.  

**Wings must be cooked prior to the event.
