Oil on Walnut. Also known as the Carolina dove or Carolina mourning dove, it is the most widespread dove across the US. Doves display beautiful soft colors with their blusih gray and buffy-tan feathers with the male sporting a light pink on the sides of his neck. He is a strong flier and capable of 55 mph and makes a whistling sound when taking off.

A Bird Lady
Hello, this is my 6th year participating in Christmasville as The Bird Lady. My birds are painted in oil on various types of wood from the area. For the last 3 years I have created a limited edition series especially for Christmasville—Cardinals, Woodpeckers and now Owls. The owl’s most fascinating feature for an artist is their coloring and patterned plumage – which is why the owl was chosen as the 2020 Limited Edition bird.
