This artwork represents the leads of the string section of the well known Toronto Symphony Orchestra. My choir performs with the Symphony regularly and I gaze at the musicians and their dexterity as we practice for many hours on great musical works - the inspiration for many paintings.

Jennylynd
Jennylynd James is a Renaissance woman: a food scientist, soprano, writer and fine artist in one package. With a Ph.D. in Food Science from McGill University, Jennylynd worked for many years in the food industry in the US, Latin America, Europe and Canada. She was introduced to oil painting, portraiture and sketching in 2009 while running a business in Ireland. Jennylynd uses the vivid colours of her Caribbean heritage and global travel to influence her artwork.
From childhood, Jennylynd played the piano and sang in large choirs. She is a soprano in the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and her recent paintings focus on a passion for stage performance and capturing the joy of making music.
Loose brush strokes in her acrylic paintings to portray the movement and expression of musical characters at live shows.
