Description
The combination of black, white, gray and gold is rich and dramatic. I set this stunning dendritic opal with radial patterning in a 22k gold bezel. The baseplate is argentium sterling silver with fused delicate wire branching details and gold dots. An additional layer of 18k gold adds a splash of richness and shine to surround the stone. I've suspended the pendant from a beaded necklace of labradorite and 14k gold beads. The necklace is adjustable from 17 1/2 inches to 19 inches to get the fit and look you desire.
This one's a stunner!
**About Argentium Silver**
Argentium sterling silver is a silver alloy where most of the copper has been replaced by germanium which lends greatly enhanced tarnish resistance over standard sterling. It is .935 silver--more pure silver than .925 sterling. In addition, argentium sterling is produced using only recycled silver.

I've a degree in biology and have always been fascinated by the anatomy and morphology of plants and animals. At the same time, I've felt a strong pull to design and create. Transforming gemstones, wire, and sheets of metal into flowers, vines, and botanical abstractions is a natural culmination of these two paths.
My work explores leaf and petal motifs and the rhythmic rise-and-fall wave patterns found in nature. While freeform and organic, my creations are tempered by an underlying nod to structure and balance. The juxtaposition of raw and organic with delicate and romantic accents is another common theme.
In the studio, I often combine wire wrapping with traditional metalsmithing techniques in unique and original ways. I frequently pair wire-wrapped fringe accents with bezel-set stones.
